Historie

Åsane Mek. Industri AS is a supplier of high-quality machinery and equipment for the construction industry. We specialize in the installation and maintenance of various types of machines and equipment.

Åsane Mek Industri was founded in 1968 by Askjell Edvardsdal. Originally a one-man business, the company primarily focused on machining parts for the shipbuilding industry. At that time, the company was located in the old factories in Salhus.

In 1980, Øyvind Edvardsdal took over the business from his father. The focus then shifted more towards the construction industry and drilling equipment. In 1983, Åsane Mek Industri became a limited company, and in 1985 sold its first Montabert CPA.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the workload for Åsane Mek increased, and naturally, the number of employees grew as well. The need for more space became evident, leading to an investment in a new facility at Toppe, which was completed in 1999. This provided the employees with a new and improved working environment.

The workload continued to grow throughout the first two decades of the 2000s, and once again there was a need for more space, both indoors and outdoors. In 2023, a new facility was completed at Mjåtveit Business Park – a state-of-the-art building clearly designed for a future full of new opportunities. Shortly after moving into the new premises, the third generation took over the management of Åsane Mek. Vegard Edvardsdal followed in his father's footsteps and became the new general manager.

We also have a team member who has been with us for 50 years! None other than Øystein Flatås, who started out doing the accounts at Askjell's kitchen table in 1974. As of 2025, he is still with us one day a week. We truly value the dedication and contribution that Øystein has given for over 50 years.
